I have known Andrew for 8 years now, working closely with him on programmes at middle and senior level in Eskom, which he was responsible for.
Andrew’s knowledge of leadership and action learning is comprehensive - and his skills in both domains are first-class. I found that Andrew not only quickly grasped the most complex and rich ideas we produced, but also developed his own, pushing our knowledge and practice further. His level of learning and intellectual leadership is outstanding and it was a great pleasure to work with him. His knowledge, drive, purpose and ethicality are an inspiration to us and we are able to do our best work thanks to his rich understanding of, and commitment to, advanced executive action learning. We often find it hard to engage with high level thinking with our clients in these areas, but Andrew is an exception and is undoubtedly one of the finest leaders in progressive leadership development and rich, principled action learning in South Africa.
Andrew is also a significant leader in the leadership development community as well as a thought leader, as evidence by his recent comprehensive book on leadership on South Africa.
Andrew also is a leader in the social activist, ethical leadership and black empowerment spaces in South Africa and provides us with guidance and highly supportive dialogue in these areas.
I think that you have made a very wise and insightful choice to honour Andrew in this way and that you could not have chosen a better person.

I had the privilege to observe and experience Andrew’s capability and competence to challenge, influence and shape the leadership landscape within Africa’s largest power utility. Founded in academic rigour, personal passion and fostering lasting relationships, Andrew managed to position a requisite leadership strategy and the execution of the strategy through an internal leadership institute.
The leading practices established in the leadership institute drew acclaim from internal and external audiences. These accolades can directly be attributed to Andrew’s leadership and ability to create a common purpose, holding a people centred perspective. Andrew demonstrated being masterful in not only challenging mindset and quality of thinking, but also in formulating and implementing sustainable governance systems and processes.

When I reflect on the journey travelled with Andrew I am deeply grateful for the richness of the learning we shared and the friendship we have to this day. He embodies the principles of learning and leadership in the passion he has for leaving the World but particularly Africa a better place than he finds it. His ability to craft and diagnose the ultimate learning experience in each moment is phenomenal and as a recipient of this learning it often challenged me to my core but I have always emerged the better for it. The exposure you gave me to Action Science and its principles still guide almost each interaction I consciously have in my professional and personal life. Thank you Andrew for the love, courage and the role you played in transforming my life.

I am more than happy to learn that Mr. Mohan is receiving this well-deserved recognition. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and interacting with Mohan closely for the last 10 years.
I must say Mohan has a solid professional background and broad knowledge and has been ready to provide guidance and share his experiences at any time which makes him exceptional. He played an instrumental role as a coach for me where his assessments helped me to determine and build our organizational future plans. Mr. Mohan was able to quickly grasp what I wanted to accomplish and had devised a distinctive approach on how to achieve our goals. I am absolutely thrilled that Mohan is receiving this prestigious award as a recognition of his work in catalysing the transformation of organisations across the globe. When I first met Mohan close to 15 years ago he was putting together the core elements of what has over the years become a robust framework for effecting organisational change. In the initial years, brainstorming sessions and intensive workshops with him with him helped me and my team lay the foundations of a unique organisational culture which has over the years helped us deal with enormous challenges of business and science that were such an integral part of the journey towards building a drug discovery company. Meanwhile, I have had the singular privilege and pleasure of a ring side view to Mohan’s journey to global business prominence. A journey in which he has worked with a dazzling variety of businesses and management teams, helping them transform and achieve their full potential in incredibly dynamic and testing market environments. He was instrumental in changing the way we were conducting our everyday business. Ours was more centralized during those years and everything that went around had to somehow meet with my approval. Mohan showed me that for an organization to flourish it would have to decentralize and advised me to share responsibilities with the managers thereby enabling the company to be run in a more professional manner. This decentralization also permitted me to realign my priorities and commitments. He also brought in the culture of having a procedure for having regular review meetings of all heads of divisions and this helped a lot in keeping track of the progress of the company.

When Mohan had started his involvement with Eastern ,Eastern had completed successful 30 years and was at a crucial point in its journey. In facing newer market challenges Eastern to bring in newer team members that would help in its journey.There we had learnings in the company but none was documented and whole lot of unlearning too . and it was important for us to reach back to our roots and to understand ourselves to move forward.This was also the movement I had taken to role of chief of the company.i can honestly say that Mohan has been a friend,guide throughout this journey.Mohan always believes n the potential of people and rallies for the cause of young leaders and made sure they were given responsibilities from which they could learn from .This gives courage and lease of life to the people who come in touch with him who begin challenging their boundaries.

It gives me great pleasure in providing the following testimonial for Mrityunjay in connection with his nomination for the Global Forum/General Robert (Lex) Dilworth Awards for Outstanding Achievement during this year’s 23rd annual Global Forum meeting on Strategic Change, Leadership and Learning.
I have known Mrityunjay for last the 28 years and have seen him grow as a good human being and a highly successful Leadership Development professional. Mrityunjay was my junior in University and even then he exhibited the hunger to learn and contribute to the wellbeing of the society. Our paths crossed again in 1995, when we were colleagues at a boutique organisation development institute in Hyderabad. I had the privilege of having him as part of my team working on a World Bank funded project for the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department and his hunger to learn and contribute to the cause of the project was undiminished. In 1997 when he was a Ph.D. scholar, he designed and conducted a 5-day long program on the theme “Transformational Leadership” first of its kind in India, for senior executives of both Public and Private sector organization. What I remember even today is his earnestness, commitment and hard work he used to put in to make the task in hand successful.
Over the years, he has remained in touch and I have followed his development and growth as one of the finest executives. He has been with Wipro for nearly 15 years and currently leads Leadership Development for Wipro. His contributions are well recognised within the company.
While Mrityunjay has grown older and experienced, his simplicity, commitment, sincerity, integrity and hard work have remained intact. I wish Mrityunjay a bright future and also take this opportunity to congratulate him on the prestigious award he is receiving today. Very well deserved!!

My association with Mrityunjay goes back to the mid-90s when he used to work with a Management Development Institute in Hyderabad, India and I was with Dr. Reddy’s Lab as the Global Head of HR in the same city. He used to do assignments for us and I was always impressed with the kind of genuineness, insights and people-connect he would always bring to his work. Post that stint, he joined Wipro, he conceptualized and developed a unique consortium-based program for Indian conglomerates where Dr. Reddy’s was one of the members. In fact, I also attended one of the programs along with my senior colleagues. Learning from senior colleagues of different organizations along with Professors from reputed national and international institute was certainly an enriching experience and lot of credit for this goes to Mrityunjay. I also have noticed that he seamlessly can manage complex situations and his ability to deal with different sets of stakeholders is praiseworthy. I am delighted to learn that he is being awarded this prestigious award and I think he really deserves it. Congratulations Mrityunjay! Without doubt, more accolades will come your way.
